== Showing same scenario also in other rooms ? ==
1. finish your scenario in Scenario Wizard
2. go to Advanced - Scenarios and find your scenario and click on it - you'll get also ticks for other rooms..

This is particularly useful if you have complex scneario with more commands to various devices - repeating all those clicks would be inconvenient.

== Start playing playlist in certain Audio zone (doesn't work!)==
1. go to Advanced Scenario Wizard
2. add MH Play Media command for Media_Plugin (child of DCERouter)
3. add Filename (#13 Filename (string) ) and Entertainment Area (#45 PK_EntertainArea (string) ).

I have sniffed DCERouter when I start playlist from Orbiter and tried to mimic that command being send, but it doesn't work. Anyone with more insight how to do this properly ?

== Turn on an MD and set the lighting in a room ==
1. Create your Scenario, and using the Lighting Wizard set your lights as you wish
2. Save changes, then change to the Advanced Wizard
3. Add a new command, choose device General Info Plugin (child of the Core)
4. Select the command Wake Device
5. Enter the id of the Media Director you wish to wake (you can get this from the Media Directors page)
6. Save changes

== Turn off an MD ==

Use the General Info Plugin as above and choose the command Halt Device. In the configuration for the command add the id of the MD
== Adding Custom Picture/Image To Scenarios ==
1. Click Scenario, Under Wizard, select desired Scenarios
2. Select (lets say Video)
3. Under Video scenario, browse picture and update...
4. Regen and Reload
5. All Images must be max size 120 x 120

This is particularly useful if you have complex scneario with more commands to various devices - repeating all those clicks would be inconvenient.
=UNDER CONSTRUCTION more to Come including pics WORK in PROGRESS=

I fell i love with linuxmce upon first glance, now im Hooked been waiting long time to get into my new place and start this wiki :).... I built my first system with 0710 few MD's to test my system in a condo i was living in while building my new house from ground up... SO I have specifically tailored my house to work with LinuxMce, Ive gone with a Central sound and video Distribution, from my media room 3 racks built into wall with its own climate control system utilization APC, rackmount environmental system... basically nothing is getting to hot...

= Software Setup =

Currently running Linux MCE 0810 Beta 2

= House Wiring=

Every room is wired with both cat 5e and cat 6e.. all runs for non Pluto devices run down to a patch panel in basement for 5e and 6e that patch panel are tied by a switch to media rack...

Every room is wired with in-wall or ceiling JBL professional grade speakers, either a room with audio only or audio and video (all speakers run back to media rack)

Every Room has a double gang with a cat 6e for wall mount orbiters under Dev by Tkmedia along with (2) powered and cat 6e double gangs for some fancy larger orbiters (touchscreen windpc) all wired back to Pluto media rack patch panels

Every Plasma location (7 total in end and 1 Projector in Home Theater room/ Media Rack Area) has (2) 6e (2) 5e and a bunch of analog cables quadshield, composite, etc for redundancy backup (ie a waste of money)

Every Plasma runs were too long from media rack to use pro grade HDMI so i setup 1 run with conduit to run whatever from projector to media rack.

Every Plasma is sent HDMI over a single Cat6e (Currently have all plasmas working 1080) Ive tried countless brands for this ive found no brand utilizing 2 cat that works well... Best ive found that works great with adjustable DDC and signal strength that truly works 200-250 foot range max off 6e is:

Atlona AT-HD-V40SRS HDMI v1.3 Over Single Cat5 Extender

My hardware is as listed below:

= i decided to go a different route instead of squeezeboxes, i built an addition (6) very lightweight MD's that will just do Audio i removed Video and TV Scenarios from them

= A/V Equipment = Denon AVR's all around for Video MD's | Sony STR DH500 for all audio zones

= Global Cache GC-100-18R a bunch some behind plasmas and 6 ports in rack

Setup Alarm wake-up call style using Cisco 7970

This is a simple example of how you can set an alarm in linuxmce for a specific bedroom. That when the alarm goes off the bedroom will ring a wake-up call like your in a hotel on your cisco 7970. You can also change the alarm time on the orbiter on 7970..

The simplest way to receive a wake up call is to just have an another rooms embedded phone make the call to the 7970 extension this is done silently.

Setting a Wake-up Call alarm for a Cisco 7970

1. In Admin goto Event Handler ---- then select "Timed Events"

2. Create a new timed event Label "Alarm 1 Master Bed" select Based on day of the week.
(I have 2 alarms on master bed one for me and one for her)

3. Add new event

4. Now you can set the days of the week and alarm time.
(for me its everyday except Sunday and select the location of orbiter)

5. Under device select any orbiter embedded phone from pull down.. that is a MD NOT in the room or zone you are setting the alarm...
(I just use the Core's embedded phone since i will never have an alarm in that room)

6. Select Phone_Initate from pull down

7. In #83 PhoneExtension enter just extension of cisco you want to ring something like "201"

8. Test command ... should ring the cisco.. and save and you done... same thing for other rooms

(You can now change time for alarm now on cisco orbiter under sleep menu)
1. In Admin goto Event Handler ---- then select "Timed Events"

2. Create a new timed event Label "Alarm 1 Master Bed" select Based on day of the week.
(I have 2 alarms on master bed one for me and one for her)

3. Add new event

4. Now you can set the days of the week for me its everyday except Sunday and select the location of orbiter.

5. Under device select any orbiter embedded phone from pull down.. that is a MD NOT in the room or zone you are setting the alarm... I just use the Core's embedded phone since i will never have an alarm in that room...

6. Select Phone_Initate from pull down

7. In #83 PhoneExtension enter just extension of cisco you want to ring something like "201"

8. Test command ... should ring the cisco.. and save and you done... same thing for other rooms

You can now change time for alarm now on cisco orbiter under sleep menu...

working in progress.... on adding prerecorded wave files that will play through phone after you pick up for reminders... to come.... FYI this is my first wiki
