When playing Wuthering Waves you may need to buffer your team with some of the free characters you’ll get from playing the story. Yangyang is one of the first characters that players will receive from the story, and she’ll help teams get along until some more characters become an option. Yangyang has a few options for players to utilize in the team. She can be a hybrid or even a strictly support character if desired. When using her as support, you can utilize Yangyang’s outro skill to generate resonance energy for the next character and use her crowd-control abilities.

Best Weapons For Yangyang

When considering weapons for Yangyang, you’ll want to know what sort of build you are going for. In a hybrid role for her, you’ll want to use the Emerald of Genesis 5-star weapon. Emerald of Genesis will increase Energy Regen by 12.8%, and her attack will be increased by 6% when the Resonance Skil is released. The attack buff can stack up to 2 times and last 10 seconds. This is a very solid choice for Yangyang and will perfectly suit a hybrid role for her.

Another good choice for a hybrid build weapon will be the Lunar Cutter 4-star. This will give Yangyang 6 stacks of a buff named Oath when entering battle. Every Oath stack will increase her attack by 2% and can be triggered 1 time every 12 seconds . Every 2 seconds , the Oath buff will go down by 1 stack , but when defeating an enemy, all stacks will be replenished. This is a good choice if you’re looking to keep Yangyang’s time on the field to a bare minimum, since Yangyang can use her kit fairly quickly and effectively, this is going to be a really nice option to keep her field time optimal for other characters do start dealing some heavy damage and gain her outro skill buff.

If you are seeking a support role for Yangyang, you will want to use the Originite: Type II 3-star weapon. Even though it isn’t a higher-rated weapon, this one will restore 10% health when the Resonance Liberation is used. This can be triggered 1 time every 20 seconds and, while it won’t be the hardest hitter in the options, it can at least provide some nice support on top of being easily obtained. Unfortunately, this is the only viable support weapon available for Yangyang's healing build but it still gets the job done if it is something you're looking to try out.

Best Echoes For Yangyang

Now, when you are going to start building Yangyang’s echoes out, you’ll want one of the two options that will best fit each option you have for her. The first option is going to be for her hybrid build. For this build you will want to stick with echoes that have the Moonlit Clouds Sonata Effect. With a full setup with these echoes, you’ll gain 10% more Energy Regen and the next character brought into the field will have their attack increased by 22.5% for 15 seconds once Yangyang’s Outro Skill has been used. This Sonata Effect is going to be the best option for a hybrid build due to how great it is for the entire team in general.

The best primary echo option here will be Impermanence Heron which does have the Moonlit Clouds Sonata Effect as well. When activated, Impermanence Heron allows Yangyang to transform into the echo, allowing her to fly during battle and unleash Havoc Damage with its breath attack. By long-pressing the echo attack, Yangyang remains transformed, dealing additional Havoc Damage. When the primary attack connects, Yangyang gains 10 Resonance Energy , and the next character entering the field receives a damage boost for 15 seconds .

The next option will be for her support-focused role, and you’ll want to snag 5 echoes with the Rejuvenating Glow Sonata Effect. With the full 5 echoes, Yangyang will increase healing by 10% and when healing allies, the entire team will gain a 15% attack buff for 30 seconds . When using this particular setup, you will need the Originite: Type II weapon for these buffs to trigger and be usable while on the field.

When using the Rejuvenating Glow Sonata Effect, you’ll want her main echo to be Bell-Borne Geochelone. This echo will deal Ice Damage to nearby enemies based on Yangyang’s defense and will generate a Bell-Borne Shield that lasts for 15 seconds . The Bell-Borne Shield grants damage reduction to all characters and will provide a damage boost to the team as well. It will vanish after Yangyang is hit three times .

Best Teams To Use With Yangyang

It is important to pair Yangyang with some big damage-dealing characters that work well with her. Jinshi is a solid choice for this because of Yangyang’s build options. Jinshi needs a lot more field time in comparison to Yangyang and does a ton of damage. Yangyang’s Outro Skill will synergize with Jinshi fairly well and both complement each other well. Another character that can work well with her is Aalto , even though he doesn’t do a ton of damage on his own. Aalto is capable of buffing characters that share the same element affinity. Both options here are solid and can help bring out Yangyang’s potential in a team.

For support characters to consider for a hybrid build, along with the others mentioned, you should consider bringing Jianxin , Verina , or Baizhi along for your team as well. All three will provide different types of support depending on what you are looking for in a team. While Verina and Baizhi will be solid healers who can buff the team in their own ways, Jianxin is going to be able to provide the team with some of the best shields in the game as of the 1.1 update. All three aren’t going to be capable of providing a large output in damage, but they are great support options for almost all teams.

Yangyang may not be the strongest or most ideal character in [https://Idolvnnet.com/ wuthering waves hub] Waves , but she is viable until you've got the characters you wish to use. As a free character, she is still fun to use and build once you've got the right echoes and weapons for her. All that you'll want to keep an eye out for is to go ahead and gather her upgrade materials for her to hit harder or just support your teams a little better in general.
Trophy Kitter First Trophy

Much like other gacha games, Wuthering Waves allows players to interact further with its wide roster of characters through Companion Stories. These Stories are stand-alone, longer quests that center a specific Resonator. They let players get to know a character better by exploring their lives, motivations, and more. Some of the Companion Stories in [https://idolvnnet.com/ Wuthering Waves events] Waves even allow players to play as the character the Story focuses on, allowing them to glean a bit more about how the character plays and what their kit is like.

However, some players may argue that, unless done well, Companion Story quests can be hit-or-miss, especially if the player hasn't been introduced to the character the quest focuses on yet. With all of the above in mind, this article covers each Character Story available in Wuthering Waves and discusses which of the three available is the best. Read on to find out more.

This article contains spoilers for each of the Companion Story quests currently available in Wuthering Waves . Players who want to experience these stories for themselves should take caution.

Of the three Companion Stories currently available, Lingyang's suffers the most. This is due to a combination of a lack of pre-existing familiarity with Lingyang and plain old bad writing. The storyline makes sense and theoretically gives interesting insights into Lingyang's past and culture , as well as the overall lore of Wuthering Waves. However, the story is poorly translated for the player. Certain aspects, such as Lingyang's more animalistic form, Suan-ni, don't appear. This makes some of the more emotional notes that the game attempts to hit fall flat.

The confusion of some players regarding whether or not Lingyang is the Jingle Beast also comes down to the unclear writing in his quest, making that revelation much less affecting for some. The poor writing also morphs attempts at serious storytelling into unintentional hilarity. For example, the 'sorry you had to see that part of me' line has become a bit of a meme in certain Wuthering Waves circles online.

Still, there are parts of Lingyang's quest that do work effectively. Its references to Chinese mythology and culture are very well done, and create a wonderful atmosphere while working through the quest. It also has a nice, heartwarming story that gets wrapped up neatly. There's no denying that the main cutscene is beautifully animated, adding something unique and special to Lingyang's sweet story about loss and finding his place within society.

100 Astrite

2000 Union Experience

28,000 Shell Credit

3 Advanced Energy Core

6 Advanced Resonance Potion

Like Lingyang's Companion Story quest, Yinlin's isn't perfect. However, it's far more interesting and is told in a more effective manner. The Solitary Path quest involves missing persons cases and an intriguing creepy "villain." It's certain to pique the player's attention and get them involved in the storyline.

Unfortunately, Yinlin's Story quest doesn't deliver 100% of the time. While its setup is interesting and has a lot of opportunity to explore Yinlin and her background, it doesn't live up to its potential due to the recurring issue of poor writing. Yinlin also suffers the same issue as Lingyang when it comes to popping up out of nowhere. Since this Companion Story quest is the first time players meet her, it feels a bit hollow. That being said, Yinlin's Companion Story does a good job at making players want to get to know her more.

Overall, the Solitary Path Companion Story is still better than Lingyang's Companion Story quest. Alongside this, the opportunity to play as Yinlin in a dungeon customized to fit her allows the player to have a good bit of fun with the character. While there's room for improvement, Yinlin's quest is a lot of fun, and the issues can easily be overlooked.

100 Astrite

2000 Union Experience

28,000 Shell Credit

3 Advanced Energy Core

6 Advanced Resonance Potion

Jiyan's Companion Story quest, Daybreak At Last, is the best of the Story quests currently available. This is thanks in part to the fact that Jiyan appears in the main story of [https://idolvnnet.com/ Wuthering Waves beginner guide] Waves , making him familiar to players once they unlock and begin his Companion quest. In turn, this will probably make players more interested in getting to know Jiyan, unlike if he'd appeared out of thin air.

Another feature of his quest is that it's quite a bit longer than the two other Companion Story quests. It's split into three separate quests, each with its own smaller story — one even featuring Mortefi, another playable character. This also helps the quality of Jiyan's Story quest, as the linearity allows for more room for the story to develop.

That said, the best thing about Jiyan's Story quest is that it's so well written. It's often funny and lighthearted, but when it becomes serious, it's genuinely touching and emotional. Alongside this, players get a glimpse into Jiyan's past and the struggles he's suffered through, which makes the emotional scenes in the Story quest feel that much more real. In general, players are likely to come out of his Companion Story feeling much closer to him, and even hoping to see more from him in the future. It's an ideal place for a Companion Story to end.

100 Astrite

2000 Union Experience

28,000 Shell Credit

3 Advanced Energy Core

6 Advanced Resonance Potion
These Stories are stand-alone, longer quests that center a specific Resonator. They let players get to know a character better by exploring their lives, motivations, and more. Some of the Companion Stories in Wuthering Waves even allow players to play as the character the Story focuses on, allowing them to glean a bit more about how the character plays and what their kit is like.

This article contains spoilers for each of the Companion Story quests currently available in [https://idolvnnet.com/ Wuthering Waves weapons] Waves .

For example, the 'sorry you had to see that part of me' line has become a bit of a meme in certain [https://idolvnnet.com/ wuthering waves game hub] Waves circles online.

This is thanks in part to the fact that Jiyan appears in the main story of [https://idolvnnet.com/ Wuthering Waves events] Waves , making him familiar to players once they unlock and begin his Companion quest.

There are currently 61 Windchimers on Mt. Firmament.

2: Head towards the Resonance Nexus after fixing the bridge with a Chronosorter.

3: Head southeast from the Resonance Nexus and number 3 can be seen dangling under a sharp rock beneath the mountain range.

4: From location 3, head south towards a group of rocks sitting near the coast.

5: Continue southeast along the coast until a special enemy , Mighty Lightcrusher, comes into view. Near the Lightcrusher is a set of ribs housing the fifth Windchimer.

6: Go to the waterfall just east of number five. Jump down half way and it'll be sitting on a ledge.

7: This one is dangling from a tree at the bottom of the waterfall.

8: Teleport to the Xuanji Ridges Resonance Beacon to the north and continue upwards. This one can also be seen dangling from a tree.

9: Proceed directly east and number nine will be sitting by a fallen tree along the coast.

10: Travel southeast and number 10 will be by a pillar next to some Fractsidus.

11: Just slightly west and number 11 can be seen on top of a pillar.

12: Keep going west towards another waterfall and find number 12 on a ledge halfway down.

The next few Windchimers are located around Hongzhen, the main city of Mt. Firmament .

Close

13: Teleport to the Resonance Nexus in Hongzhen and face west towards the bridge.

14: Right below the Resonance Nexus, tucked away on a ledge, is number 14.

15: Head east into the city and this one can be seen dangling from a roof.

16: Continue east and climb to the top of the waterfall where the hot springs are.

17: Teleport to the Resonance Beacon south of the city and climb to the floor above.

18: Go slightly north to find a traditional-looking cabinet.

19: Proceed slightly southwest and number 19 can be seen in the building across.

20: Head south to a small covered area by two hot springs.

21: Directly south of number 17 is a large waterfall. Get to the bottom of the waterfall and enter the cave behind it.

22: Teleport to the Resonance Beacon southwest of Hongzhen and one will be dangling on a large tree to the north.

23: Climb up the cliff to the west and number 23 will be on a ledge next to two Florambers .

Some of the next few Windchimers are located in a cave system first encountered during the main questline, Chapter 1 Act 7: Thaw of Eons. The questline also eventually gives players access to the weekly boss, Jué . Players who didn't pick up the Windchimers during the quest can teleport back using the Resonance Beacon called Truthseeker's Pass.

Close

24: After teleporting to Truthseeker's Pass Middle Level, look southeast towards the ceiling.

25: Head slightly southwest from the Resonance beacon.

26: Take the path west of the Resonance Beacon, past a trio of Clang Bangs, to where the Windchimer is dangling above a broken set of stairs.

27: Proceed past the Photon Barrier southwest of the Resonance Beacon. Take the elevator to the Lower Tier and number 27 can be seen dangling from a tree.

28: Go counter-clockwise on the same path to find number 28.

29: Head back to the elevator and take it to the Upper Tier. Jump down from the platform and take a left before reaching the pathway.

30: Take the pathway to the end to find the last Windchimer in the cave.

31: Teleport to the Resonance Beacon southeast of Truthseeker's Pass, then run northwest, and the Windchimer can be seen dangling high up on a curved rock structure.

32: Travel south, to one of the small land masses. Number 32 can be found lying next to a fallen tree.

33: Go to the large structure in the southeast. Use the Chronosorter to turn back time and climb to the top.

The next few Windchimers are located around Tianqu Tree and parts of Loong's Ridge.

Close

34: Teleport to the Resonance Beacon southeast of Truthseeker's Pass and head east to the torn-down structure near a Lumiscale Construct that players can kill for an Echo .

35: Continue east again and jump down to a small waterfall where number 35 can be seen on a ledge.

36: Turn south and head down to Loong's Ridge where number 36 can be found lying on a mound of snow.

37: Teleport to the Resonance Beacon at the southern end of Loong's Ridge and look up towards the northwest.

38: Teleport to the Tianqu Tree Resonance Beacon. From there, the Windchimer can be seen towards the south, dangling under a ledge.

39: Run slightly east from the previous location and the next one will be hanging from a tree branch.

40: Go northwest towards a small broken structure by the edge of the cliff.

41: From the position of number 40, look downwards in the northeast direction at a ledge halfway down a waterfall.

42: Teleport back to the Tianqu Tree Resonance Beacon and run north.
