Current issues on 10.04
- HDMI sound does not work out of the box
- apt-get install linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic
- The nvidia hdmi item will show up under card 1 after this
- The furthest I got in getting HDMI going was doing the following:
- apt-get install linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=0 index=1
/etc/asound.conf
pcm.!default {
type plug
slave {
pcm "hw:1,7"
rate 48000
}
}
- Also testing with this command
notes:
For 12.04 testing: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10638836#post10638836
The nVidia and alsa drivers need to be updated.
Does not work
aplay -v -D plughw:1,3 /mnt/device/42/avwizard-sounds/avwizard_volume_test.mp3 aplay -v -D hdmi:CARD=NVidia /mnt/device/42/avwizard-sounds/avwizard_volume_test.mp3
Works
speaker-test -D hdmi:CARD=NVidia -c 8
