Valorant currently has ten different characters, or Agents, to choose from, split into four different classes: Controller, Duelist, Sentinel, and Initiator. Brimstone falls into the Controller category and happens to be one of the most useful Agents in the game. He's got a lot of utility to make use of, usually revolving around affecting sizeable areas with a certain effect at the same time.

RELATED: Overwatch: 10 Pro Tips & Strategies To Win In Uprising

Let's take a look at ten tips for getting the most out of Brimstone.

Brimstone's signature ability is his Sky Smoke. Activating this ability will pull up a map, allowing you to select one-to-three areas on the map where you would like to drop smoke, blocking lines of sight. The usefulness of this ability is going to up as you get more familiar with the maps, and it can go a long way in either helping or hurting your team, depending on how they're used.

These can be used in an offensive or defensive capacity, with the latter usually used in order to force attackers around corners or through hallways blindly, giving you a severe advantage in any gunfight as they'll have to get their bearings as soon as they exit the smoke.

This smoke can be used offensively to great effect too, used to block off valuable enemy sightlines allowing for you and/or your team to enter a site without defenders having access to their most favorable positions. Defenders are going to adjust to this as the match plays out, and you'll have to feel out which areas they're moving to in order to continue getting value out of these the longer the match goes.

Keep in mind, this smoke drops out of the sky, meaning if there's a roof or vertical cover of any kind in between the sky and the area you're trying to smoke, it's not going to land where you want it to land. Brimstone is going to need to be very specific and accurate in order to get the most use out of his smokes and realize there are certain places it just isn't going to work out.

Brimstone also has an Incendiary Grenade Launcher, capable of blanketing a pretty decent area in fire for quite a few seconds.

RELATED: 10 Online Shooters & FPS You Didn’t Know Were Coming In 2020

This can be a great way to keep enemies from getting into a certain location for the duration, whether it be cutting off a hallway or an area that they're trying to plant the spike in.

The Incendiary can also be used to push an enemy out of cover that they've already gained. This can be a fantastic way to push an enemy into the waiting crosshairs of either you or a teammate, since the enemy's only options are becoming a burn victim or taking the gunfight.

The Incendiary can get into areas that you may not even be able to see too, since it can bounce around corners. This is another ability that's really going to reward map knowledge; once you've got a really good understanding of the map, the angles, and the areas that enemies are likely to be in, you can get a lot of use out of the Incendiary Launcher without even having to put yourself in harm's way.

One of the lesser-used abilities at Brimstone's disposal (for good reason) is his Stim Beacon. Tossing this out will grant you and any allies in the radius RapidFire either while standing in the effect, or for four seconds after leaving the area. [https://www.fpthoughts.com/ This Webpage] RapidFire can doesn't honestly make a huge difference and isn't going to do much for your team, but if you're pushing with a few teammates into the same area, you may as well give everybody the bonus.

Brimstone's Ultimate Ability is his Orbital Strike. Activating this is almost identical to how you activate the Sky Smoke; the difference being instead of dropping smoke from the sky, you're dropping giant death lasers. This does heavy damage over time, so if an enemy doesn't hightail it out of there immediately, they're going to be watching the rest of the round from the spectator camera.

RELATED: FPS: 10 Dormant Shooter Franchises We Want To See Revived On Next Generation Consoles

This is a fantastic way to take care of an enemy planting the spike if you don't have a line-of-sight on them; they can try to stick the plant through the damage, but they'll pay for it with their life.

Much like the Incendiary Launcher, this can be a great way to force an enemy out of good cover, or out of a small room, considering the damage radius of the ability. This can drastically turn the tide of a round, forcing an enemy to give up a really advantageous position and making them fight on your terms.

Overall, Brimstone's abilities are suited for a more mid-range playstyle. His abilities don't require him to be close to get the most out of them (unless you're trying to tag a very specific area with the Incendiary), and since they generally take a couple of seconds to set up accurately, it's best if you're out of harm's way when activating them. Brimstone specializes in dictating the terms of the fight, and in the right hands, can create a truly uneven situation that your team is going to greatly benefit from.

NEXT: Overwatch: The Ultimate Tier List
