There are a few different ways to play a DVD within LinuxMCE this guide outlines a couple. The vast majority of DVD can be played by simply inserting the DVD into the DVD player and LinuxMCE will automatically select the proper device and start playing the DVD. The DVD menu should appear on the screen ready to be used to start the movie.
OnScreen Orbiter/Tablet
Depending on the UI you are using you may have many of the following options. If you are trying to play a DVD which is already in the drive, then press Manage Drives option from the Media menu. You should see the drive with a the name of the DVD in the drive and then select Play
- click on "home" => show the main menu; the movie should be still playing; it's name should be displayed on the "now playing" area
- click on "play/pause" : one click should pause it the movie, one more click should play it
- click on "rewind/forward" : should move the movie backward/forward (and the movie should play slower/faster)
- click on "next/previous" : play skip/previous chapter
- click on "stop media" button => should stop the movie and show the main menu screen("now playing" area should be empty)
- "file list" => go to movies file list; if you choose another stored dvd, it should play it
- "vol up/vol down, light up/light down" : should increase/decrease the volume/light
- "dvd options" => go to another screen with angle/subtitles/audio options
- "advanced options" => go to another screen where are listed the recent media commands and the extra media options
- "dvd copy" => go to another screen and choose a user, a name for the recording and the state public/private
