Ripping Format for CDs
Here you can set the Format for how you want your CDs to be ripped. Current choices are:
- MP3
- Ogg
- FLAC
- WAV
For a more detailed description of the ripping process, see how to Rip a CD/DVD to the Core
Bit Rate
Here you can set the Bit Rate for which you want to encode.
CBR or VBR
- Constant Bit Rate (CBR) In video coding, the bitrate of the compressed video is fixed at a certain rate. This usually results in variable perceived quality of the video.
- Variable Bit Rate (VBR) A way of encoding video such that the data rate varies over time. This allows more complex scenes to use a higher data rate, balanced by using lower data rates in easily compressed scenes.
