-One thing I think is important is that articles must not appear once in a category and then again in a more general category. For example, Sony Amplifier should not appear once in 'audio hardware' and then again in 'hardware'. This is consistent with the [http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_User%27s_Guide:_Using_Categories#Category_considerations guidelines for Wikimedia projects], which are very well thought through.
