Can't can USB webcam to work...

Thanks for writing this down. After step 7 its getting a bit fuzzy.

8. Create a child device per step {-} Is that is a child device of the previously created camera, or a child device of the top level device?

Lets assume a child device of the previously created camera... The device template dropdown has only 3 options:

a) generic firewire camera
b) generic input/output
c) generic motion ip camera

I tried adding each one but none have a device option.
