Swann IP-3G ConnectCam 500

This is a basic IP camera with limited functionality. It is Wireless with a 802.11g functionality and is perfect for a budget indoor IP camera that is compatible with Linux MCE. Once you have plugged the camera and you know the IP address and Mac address, it is very simple to setup. Just browse to the admin system. At the bottom of the left hand pane, click "Show Devices Tree". Click CORE on the left, then click "Create child device".

Enter a common name for the camera, eg "Swann 500"

Enter the IP address and Mac address.

Then click "Pick Device Template"

You then select "Generic IP Camera" from the device templates dropdown. (This is in 810, Not sure if 710 has this template?) Once selected, click "Pick Device Template"

Another window will now appear, you can safely ignore the top half of page and scroll to the bottom.

In the "Path" field, enter the following :

/cgi/jpg/image.cgi

Leave PK_FloorplanObjectType and Alert blank.

TCP Port : 80 AuthUser : admin AuthPassword : admin (assuming you have not changed it from default ) IP : IP of Camera MAC : MAC address of camera


Click Save

Now reload your DCE Router and you should see the camera in "Show Cameras" in the admin system.
