Appliances
Appliances can be controlled via vary methods. Insteon and X10 both provide hardware to interface with appliances throughout your home. They range from sensors, to contact closure relays and more. The key element is that they can be controlled via linuxMCE once you setup the computer interface relating to that technology. So you can control lighting, appliances, security and irrigation all from the same computer interface and linuxMCE.
