I have the GeForce 220 and audio is working over HDMI. I'm having trouble with Alsa and Wine and I've seen a lot of posts reflecting the same problem. There are registry keys which can be configured for the Alsa device within Wine, but I have had no luck with this. I have sound working via the ESD Driver, but it is definitely not as good. From what I can tell the issue is that because no volume control is exposed for the HDA Device (i.e. when running alsa mixer, you only see the digital output switches), Wine aborts. So, where do we go from here - Alsa, or Wine ?
