Speaking of breaking from legacies, I’m also pleased to report that Wild Hearts is a PC port with Koei-Tecmo in the credits that doesn’t feature horrendous optimization, weird framerate caps, or a lack of basic keyboard and mouse support. Granted, not every key binding is available, particular thumb keys most gaming mice come with these days, but this is a massive step up from their middling ports in days past. Performance in our pre-release builds wasn’t perfect, but fairly reasonable for a game without its launch day patch. I eventually had to turn some settings down, but it remains a gorgeous game regardless, including superb facial animations.
