Fax management in LinuxMCE
Since version 10.04 build 25834 there is working fax support in LinuxMCE via VoIP. Fax transmission via VoIP is very critical. We can't guarantee that it will work for everyone, depending on line quality, VoIP provider, network load e.t.c. But it works well for the author :-)
Receiving faxes in LinuxMCE
Preparing your core
Configuring email support
Because fax reception relies on email subsystem, you have to configure email support on your core first. Read more about this in the Email section
Creating a VoIP fax line
You create a fax line like any other phoneline in LinuxMCE, except that you check the "Fax line" checkbox and choose a use to whom you want the faxes forwarded. LinuxMCE will convert received faxes to PDF and mail it to the choosen user as PDF.
Sending faxes from LinuxMCE
This is work in progress. Wiki will be updated when ready.
Debugging
Everytime a fax is received the /usr/pluto/bin/Fax_Process.sh script is called. It logs to /var/log/pluto/faxlog. You can tail that log file to see what happens. If you mail do not arrive, make sure you configured Email support already. Eventually you can tail /var/log/mail.info to see what happened to your fax mail.
