This information needs to be much more user friendly and less geek oriented. No slight intedned, I'm a geek too, but to popularize LinuxMCE, we will need docs that address concerns of regular users.

For instance, there is no discussion about which TV's are supported. Is an HDTV a requirement?

  • Agreed - think project should look to also cover categories and build up templates for such. Will look at developing Wiki Templates for things such as hardware items to make it easier (and more presentable) for public to browse such things.--Tomwebbnz 20:59, 2 August 2007 (MST)

Wiki licence?

Hi. I'd like to put some information from this wiki on Wikipedia. Is this wiki under the GFDL? I can't find any licensing information. McLurker 11:38, 16 August 2007 (MST)

Major redesign

I've redesigned the front page, no information is gone, just moved around some stuff. I will continue to straigthen things up and organizing, do you wanna help? Samme 03:36, 15 September 2007 (MST)

  • Looks nice, big improvement. Zaerc 12:57, 15 September 2007 (MST)

Section with icons

I've changed the support section to have some icons. Basically the idea is cribbed (in the best spirit of the free software movement!) from the MythTV wiki. Obviously, it links to the same things as we had before.

It would look a lot nicer if we had SVG/PNG support as we are currently using GIFs for these.

What does everyone think? Lozzo 13:45, 29 September 2007 (MST)

Basicly I like it, but there's a huge white spot - it seems kinda empty, maybe we could fill it with something. --Samme 01:45, 1 October 2007 (MST)

Capture card??

I am new to Linux MCE and I'm excited to dive in. I have a pc that I am going to use but I need a 2 port video/capture HDtv card. Can you guys give me your ideas of what you think is the best please?

You should reference the hardware wiki area as that will give you the best idea. And if not that, the forums are also a usefull place to gleam information on what setups are working best for users. -Cheers Lang
