1004 Current Issues

My MCE 1004 issues as of revision: 24454 - 8/24/2011

Initial testing performed in a VM environment: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installing_kubuntu_1004_on_virtualbox

1. Endless router reload requests, suspected due to the GYR3101US: http://trac.linuxmce.org/trac.cgi/ticket/1314

1004 Development Thoughts

Things to investigate:

KMS and the benefits to the boot process

Quicker MD startup (more for suspend/resume?)

DVD installer build process - snapshot - L3MCE is finalizing

Streamlining of installation process?

  • Review mce-install.sh code, ensure everything is following the prescribed architeture and is installing in the manner we want it to
  • Take a look deeper at the package installation process, currently there are about 2 different scripts utilized, merge into one process

MCE update process that will chroot update all MD FS's, linked to the 'upgrade' button in the advanced dialog box on the OSD orbiter

 http://svn.linuxmce.org/trac.cgi/ticket/341

1204 Development Thoughts

Clean up boot process, get rid of extraneous errors (most are thought to be inherent to the 1004 build of upstart, need to investigate with 1204)
