After experimenting with LMCE, I'm not convinced that Linux is more stable than Windows as I've had multiple crashes and weirdness going on with this product. I've finally got it stabilized somewhat after killing a few Processes that run by default, namely Motion / motion + and ScreenSaver.

About Me

I've been working with OpenBSD for 10 years, but never delved into X-Windows as I use OBSD mainly for LAMP functions. I live in Northern California (NorCAL) and work as a Network Engineer.


LinuxMCE

After experimenting with LMCE, I'm not convinced that Linux is more stable than Windows as I've had multiple crashes and weirdness going on with this product. I've finally got it stabilized somewhat after killing a few Processes that run by default, namely Motion / motion + and ScreenSaver.


Next Steps

  • setup a MD after I'm sure the Core is stable and maybe wait until 810 before investing any more moola
