I'm still on 0710, and it doesn't seem to work for me with AVI files. I have Movie.avi and thus Movie.avi.srt, and when I play the movie it says "File not found: /path/to/Movie.avi" and doesn't play. I found this post: http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=4093.msg30631#msg30631
And they seem to have the same problem, where it doesn't work in the final release, but it worked in the beta.
