I am trying to get my Charter Communications cable box to interface with LinuxMCE. My cable box is a DCT 700.

I found the best way to get this working is to trust that LMCE knows what it is doing. When you go through the Setup Wizard you can tell it that you have a cable box. Select Motorola from the list (there are a lot of manufacturers so it takes a while to go through the list), then cable box and the first code option- proto (something- 101 maybe?).

I had to configure mythtv to set the default channel to 03- you can do this by clicking "Computing" from the main screen, then "MythTV Setup". Navigate to the "Input Connections" and type in "/usr/pluto/bin/TuneToChannel.sh [destination device id] [source device id]". Click "Finish" and everything should work- more or less. My volume buttons are reversed currently...
