Topping TP30 Class T Digital Amplifier
Description
The Topping TP30 is both an external USB sound-card and amplifier.
It has a Burr-Brown USB DAC, PCM2704, and is picked up by Alsa
0 [default ]: USB-Audio - USB Audio DAC Burr-Brown from TI USB Audio DAC
The amplifier chip is a T-Amp IC Tripath TA2024
Output rated: 2 x 15W @ 4ohm or 2 x 10W @ 8ohm
Fine for desktop speakers, or for background music, ceiling or in-wall speakers.
Caveat
The amp is not remotely controllable, so the overall volume needs to be adjusted manually on the unit.
This can be set at a max level and then software used to control the output level.
My Experience
I have two plugged into my core, driving Kitchen and Lounge ceiling speakers as separate squeezeslave zones. I have high ceilings and the output is able to fill the space without feeling forced.
