Setup
Theater
- Core/Hybrid
- ASUS M2NPV-VM
- On-board audio, using fiber output (using digital I/O expansion card) to A/V switch
- On-board video, using DVI output into HDMI cable, directly connected to Projector
- USB-UIRT
- Hauppage PVR-500
- Projector
- Epson Home Cinema 720
- RS-232 control (template available in SqlCVS - you're welcome)
- Speakers
- Cambridge Sounworks DTT3500 (old-school multi-media speakers)
- Uncontrollable! I have not been able to find ANY device capable of learning this thing's IR codes... Luckily, the receiver part is small, so I just put it near my couch.
- It plays multiple inputs simultaneously, so I don't need to switch inputs.
- LinuxMCE uses the internal volume, so once the speakers are on, I'm all set.
- Cable box
- Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2200 (Charter)
- IR Control (template available in SqlCVS)
- Connected directly to projector using S-video (too cheap to pay for HD... Besides, Charter doesn't have Discovery HD, so what's the point)
- Connected directly to speakers with RCA to 1/8" cable
- Sony Play Station 3
- Video connected to component input on Projector
- Fiber audio connected to A/V switch
- Will be controlled via IR using Schmartz Ps3IR-1000 (it's in the mail now)
- A/V Switch
- IMPACT 3-Play A/V switch (S-Video, fiber/coax digital audio, RCA audio, 3 inputs, 1 output, discrete input selection via IR, toggle power via IR, powered by external DC source)
- Controlled via IR
- Used for fiber switch only - input from Core and PS3 are switched, since the DTT3500 only has one fiber input
Bedroom
- MD
- ASUS_P2-M2A690G (DO NOT BUY THIS THING - it's a piece of crap)
- Monitor
- Samsung 730B (standard 17" monitor)
- Speakers
- Klipsch stereo multi-media speakers
- Excellent sound, but not controllable
LinuxMCE Projects
- MythTV commercial skip and playback menu - Allowing us to use these great features
- Standalone Mode - Making one-NIC LinuxMCE possible
- Orbiter Phone - making it possible to use the Mic and speakers on the Orbiter to run simplephone
