Before trusting any file, please compute the md5sum of the file and compare it with the md5 sums posted in the http://www.linuxmce.org/ news section. Since the wiki can be edited by anyone, we do not post it here. Also, before installing check out the Known_Issues article which describes any known problems with the release along with their workarounds.

'LinuxMCE 0704' is the latest release. It has two installation options. One is a DVD which overwrites your existing partitions on the hard drive you select, and installs in about 15 minutes. The others is a two CD set which installs LinuxMCE over an existing Ubuntu 0704 installation; this one preserves the partitions you have created. But it only works on an non-updated Ubuntu 0704 install. i.e. install Ubuntu 0704 with the network cable disconnected, then install LinuxMCE. The two CD install can take several hours to complete.

'LinuxMCE 0710 beta 3' is the latest beta release. It has five installation options. There are two quick install DVD's, one containing 32-bit Intel/AMD binaries and the other containing 64-bit Intel/AMD binaries. These will both repartition and format the selected installation disk. There is also dual layer DVD available which can be used to upgrade an existing LinuxMCE 0704 install with 32-bit Intel/AMD binaries. Finally, there are two sets of two CD's to install LinuxMCE 0710 over an existing Ubuntu 0710 install, one set contains 32-bit Intel/AMD binaries and the other set contains 64-bit Intel/AMD binaries. The two CD install can take several hours to complete.
